Adale Wrestling put on a dominant showing at the FHSAA 2A District 7 Individual Bracket Tournament, hosted at Auburndale High School, finishing 3rd overall as a team. Eight Bloodhound wrestlers clawed their way to the podium, punching their tickets to the Regional Championships.
The performance was a testament to the depth and grit this program has developed under Coach Grant and Coach Frank. Competing on their home mat in front of a spirited crowd, the Bloodhounds delivered one of the most memorable district performances in recent program history.
District Placers
Connor Trevino Leads the Way
Senior Connor Trevino was the standout of the tournament, earning a 2nd place finish at 215 lbs. Fighting through a tough bracket, Trevino demonstrated the veteran leadership that has defined his career as a Bloodhound, pushing all the way to the finals and representing Adale Wrestling with pride.
Buford's Journey Continues
Of the eight qualifiers, Daniel Buford made the most of his postseason opportunity. After earning his 3rd place finish at 126 lbs, the senior Team Captain advanced through the Regional Championships at Brandon High School, becoming the program's sole State qualifier for the 2026 season.
Buford's path from District bronze to the FHSAA State Championships at Silver Spurs Arena in Kissimmee stands as one of the most inspiring individual runs in Adale Wrestling history. He carried the program's banner onto the biggest stage in Florida high school wrestling, closing out a remarkable career.
"Eight wrestlers on the podium. That's not an accident — that's what this team has been building all season."
