Hunt Season Continues: Off-Season Training Begins After Spring Break

Hunt Season Continues 2026

The hunt never stops. Off-season training for Adale Wrestling officially begins after spring break, and Coach Grant and Coach Frank are ready to get to work. This is the time of year when champions are made — when the scoreboard is dark and the only opponent is yourself.

Coming off the most successful season in recent program history, a 16-3 overall record and the program's first state qualifier in Daniel Buford, the Bloodhounds have set a new standard. The goal now is simple: build on it.

Off-Season Training Details

  • Practice: 5 days per week
  • Schedule subject to change — follow coaching staff for any updates
  • Mandatory for all athletes planning to compete next season
  • Coached by Coach Grant and Coach Frank
  • Location: Auburndale High School Wrestling Room

Why Off-Season Matters

The off-season is where the margin is made. Every extra drill, every extra rep, every extra minute on the mat during these spring and summer months directly translates to wins when the season opens. The teams that show up in November already decided in March whether they were going to be great.

Coach Grant and Coach Frank have designed an off-season program focused on three pillars: conditioning, technique development, and competitive toughness. Wrestlers who commit to this program will return in the fall sharper, stronger, and more prepared than ever before.

Who Should Attend

Off-season training is mandatory for any wrestler who plans to compete for Adale Wrestling in the 2026-27 season. This applies to returning wrestlers at all levels. If you want a spot in the lineup when the season starts, the time to earn it is now.

New wrestlers looking to join the program are also strongly encouraged to get involved early. Learning the system, building relationships with coaches and teammates, and developing a baseline of conditioning over the off-season will put you in the best possible position heading into tryouts.

This is not the off-season. This is the pre-season for next year's run.

The Bloodhounds finished 16-3. The hunt continues — see you on the mat.

Focus Areas This Off-Season

Conditioning will be a major emphasis as the team looks to build the endurance and athleticism to compete at an even higher level next year. Wrestlers will be pushed in ways that develop both physical and mental toughness — because the hardest moments in a match are won in practice long before they happen.

Technique sessions will focus on refining the fundamentals and expanding each wrestler's toolbox. Coach Grant and Coach Frank will work individually with athletes to identify areas for growth and develop personalized game plans for the upcoming season.
